The purpose of this article is to promote public health, safety, and welfare by prohibiting the use of electronic transportation devices in public parks, while ensuring accessibility for individuals with disabilities.

(a) Electronic Transportation Device -Any electrically powered device used for personal mobility, including but not limited to electric scooters, electric skateboards, hoverboards, electric bicycles (e-bikes), electric unicycles, and similar devices.
(b) Mobility Device -A device designed for use by individuals with mobility impairments, including wheelchairs (manual or motorized) and other medically necessary mobility aids.
(c) Public Park-Any park, playground, green space, or recreational area owned, maintained, or operated by the City and open to the general public.

It shall be unlawful for any person to operate or use an Electronic Transportation Device in any Public Park within the city limits.

(a) Mobility devices used by individuals with disabilities, including any device used for mobility assistance consistent with applicable federal and state law.
(b) City employees, contractors, or authorized personnel using such devices in the course and scope of their official duties.

All persons using public parks shall conduct themselves in a manner that does not endanger others or interfere with the safe and enjoyable use of the park.

Violation of this article is a class C misdemeanor punishable by a fine up to $500 per occurrence.
